Australia has named its squad for this month's Davis Cup semi-final against Belgium.

Australia's No.1 Nick Kyrgios will lead the side, while Thanasi Kokkinakis has been recalled, joining Jordan Thompson and doubles specialist John Peers in the four-man team.

Meanwhile, Bernie Tomic has once again been overlooked following his rankings slide.

"Thanasi has always shown commitment to the Davis Cup team and his performances in 2017 speak for themselves,” Hewitt said on Wednesday.

“We are so lucky to have such depth among the group and can call upon him heading into this crucial semi-final.

"We couldn't be in a better position and we're going to Belgium to try and secure that spot in the finals."

Meanwhile the Belgium team will consist of David Goffin, Steve Darcis, Ruben Bemelmans and Joris De Loore.

Australia face Belgium in Brussels from September 15-17.
