Tomas Berdych has advanced to the second round with a comfortable three set victory over youngster Yuki Bhambri.

The world No.6 completed the 7-5, 6-1, 6-2 rout in just one hour and 45 minutes.

Bhambri did well to stick with the 30-year-old early in the match, losing his first service game, before breaking Berdych to get back on level terms.

However, from 5-5 in the first set, it was all Berdych, who dominated his young Indian opponent for the rest of the match.

Berdych completed outplayed his young opponent, blasting 35 winners to Bhambri's 16 and hitting just 18 unforced errors to 30.
