World No.1 Novak Djokovic has now won all four Grand Slams, after a dominated victory over Scot Andy Murray in the French Open final.
Murray took the first set, however, it was all Djokovic from there, as he put on a clinic to claim his 12th Grand Slam title, with a 3-6, 6-1, 6-2, 6-4 win.
Djokovic is only the third man in the history of the game to hold all four Grand Slams at the one time.
He joins American Don Budge (1938-39) and Rod Laver (1962 and ‘69) as the only other men to achieve the feat.
The 29-year-old now sits equal fourth on the list of all time Grand Slams wins, behind only Roger Federer (17), Rafael Nadal (14) and Pete Sampras (14).
“This is great,” Djokovic said after the match.
“After all the rain, the sun.
“This is a dream to finally win the French Open.”
For Murray, it was an all too familiar tale, as he lost his eighth Grand Slam final and fifth Grand Slam final to Novak Djokovic.
“What he's achieved in the last 12 months is phenomenal, winning all four slams in one year is an amazing achievement,” Murray said.
“This is something that is so rare in tennis.
“It's not happened for an extremely long time and it's going to take a long time for it to happen again.”
