Australian Daria Gavrilova has won her maiden WTA title, defeating Dominika Cibulkova in the Connecticut Open final.

Gavrilova defeated the former grand slam finalist in three rollercoaster sets 4-6, 6-3, 6-4 in the US Open warm-up event.

The 22-year-old will now rise into the world's top-20 for the first time in her career.

Gavrilova is seeded 25th for next week's US Open.
