Nick Kyrgios has given Australia a 2-0 lead after the opening day of the Davis Cup against the Czech Republic at Kooyong.

The world No.15 defeated Jan Satral 6-2, 6-3, 6-2 in just an hour and a half, following Jordan Thompson's straight sets win over Jiri Vesely earlier in the day.

Sam Groth and John Peers will take on Zdnek Kolar and Radek Stepanek in the doubles tie tomorrow afternoon.
