Nick Kyrgios is through to the last eight of the Miami Open and has reached a new career high ranking in the process.

Kyrgios defeated Russian Andrey Kuznetsov 7-6(3), 6-3 in 83 minutes, to book a match-up with world No.12 Milos Raonic.

The 20-year-old, who is yet to drop a set this tournament, reached his first ATP Masters 1000 quarterfinal and is the first Australian into the final eight of the Miami Open since Lleyton Hewitt in 2002.

Regardless of the result in the quarterfinal, Kyrgios will rise to No.22 in the world.
