Aussie Sam Stosur has won her way through to the second round at Wimbledon, with a straight sets win over Poland's Magda Linette.

After a difficult first set, Stosur cruised through to the second, wrapping up the match 7-5, 6-3.

She will now face Sabine Lisicki in the second round, after the German took care of American Shelby Rogers 6-1, 6-3.

“I think I played a really decent level the whole way through,” Stosur said post match.

“There was just one little patch with those double faults. Apart from that, I felt like I was, yeah, relatively in control of what was going on.

“Overall pretty happy.

“There’s always things you want to get a little bit better at. Yeah, for the most part I thought I played well and really solid.”
