Top ranked Australian Bernard Tomic has been rewarded with the top seed at next month's Sydney International.

The world No.18 won the event as a 20-year-old in 2013.

World No. 20 Dominic Thiem is the second seed, while defending champion Viktor Troiki is seeded three.

On the women's side, world No. 2 Simona Halep is the top seed, with five of the top 10 female players confirmed for the event.
