Top seed Olivia Rogowska was bundled out of the Australian Open Wildcard Playoff in straight sets yesterday by 17-year-old Kaylah Mcphee.

Mcphee blew the women's draw wide open, beating the former world No. 102 and Fed Cup regular, 6-3, 6-2.

The 17-year-old is yet to even have a WTA ranking, but looks to be one to watch in the future if yesterday's form is anything to go by.

“I was just thinking it was such a great opportunity to be out there. To play someone of that calibre was an honour,” Mcphee said.

“I went out confident but I didn't think I was going to win 3 and 2. It's probably the biggest win of my career and I'm pretty happy right now. I'm still kind of soaking it in.”

In other results, No.2 seed Arina Rodinova advanced in straight sets, while Jessica Moore (3) and Alison Bai (4) were both knocked out.
