Two-time champion Victoria Azarenka has advanced to the quarterfinals of the Australian Open with a 6-2, 6-4 win over unseeded Czech Barbora Strycova.

The former world No.1's consistency eventually proved too great for Strycova, who often matched Azarenka blow for blow in a tight first set, despite the one-sided scoreline. Strycova hit 33 unforced errors compared to Azarenka's 14.

Azarenka will now play against No.7 seed Angelique Kerber for a place of the semifinals.
