The Ukraine have beaten Australia Gold in their Hopman Cup tie, knocking Jarmila Wolfe and Lleyton Hewitt out of the tournament.

Australia's Jarmila Wolfe went down to Elina Svitolina 6-3, 6-3, with the Ukranian making it three wins from three matches in a perfect lead up to the Australian Open.

Svitolina proved far too consistent for Wolfe, hitting just 11 unforced errors over the course of the match, compared to the Aussie's 33 errors.

Alexander Dolgopolov then cemented the Ukraine's spot in Saturday's Hopman Cup final, with a three set victory over Lleyton Hewitt.

Hewitt took the first set, before Dolgopolov proved too strong, eventually recording a 4-6, 6-3, 6-4 win over the 34-year-old Australian.
